Our classrooms are not the only place that our students learn. We believe that there is no substitute for the experience of the "outside world" and we actively promote the opportunities that this brings.
Outdoor education
Outdoor education allows our students to develop skills that are not learned by students in mainstream. The lessons are based around woodland skills, orienteering and ecological studies. Our fully qualified instructors teach survival skills which include outdoor cooking, shelter-making and navigation along some of the trickiest countryside in the North-East.
