Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education

At Westlands, our PSHE curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. Through a carefully structured programme, we support pupils in developing resilience, empathy, and confidence while exploring key themes that promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Our Approach

PSHE is delivered through a spiral curriculum that builds on prior learning and is responsive to the needs of our students. Lessons are inclusive, age-appropriate and aligned with statutory guidance. We incorporate SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development), British Values (BV), and the key SHAPE strands of safety (S), health (H), and employability (E) throughout.
