OFSTED: "Pupils at Westlands Academy thrive"

We are pleased to share the highlights from our most recent Ofsted inspection. The report reflects the hard work of our pupils, staff, and families, and it shows that Westlands Academy continues to be a safe, supportive, and nurturing place for children to learn and grow.

Your child is safe and cared for

Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding at Westlands Academy is strong and fully effective. Leaders make sure all legal requirements are met, and staff work together to create a caring culture where pupils feel safe and supported.

Attendance and behaviour are improving

The report praises the significant improvements in pupil attendance. Staff work closely with families and outside agencies to help pupils re-engage with learning. Behaviour is also improving over time, helped by calm, respectful relationships across the school. Bullying and discrimination are rare, and when concerns arise, the school acts quickly and consistently.

Every child’s needs are understood

Ofsted noted that our strong focus on inclusion helps pupils thrive. Staff know pupils well, regularly review targets, and work together to remove barriers to learning. This helps create a calm and supportive environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
