Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding at Westlands Academy is strong and fully effective. Leaders make sure all legal requirements are met, and staff work together to create a caring culture where pupils feel safe and supported.
The report praises the significant improvements in pupil attendance. Staff work closely with families and outside agencies to help pupils re-engage with learning. Behaviour is also improving over time, helped by calm, respectful relationships across the school. Bullying and discrimination are rare, and when concerns arise, the school acts quickly and consistently.
Ofsted noted that our strong focus on inclusion helps pupils thrive. Staff know pupils well, regularly review targets, and work together to remove barriers to learning. This helps create a calm and supportive environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
