Another Record-Breaking Christmas Fayre!

With huge support and a fantastic turnout, Westlands have set a new record in their Christmas Fayre fundraising!

This morning, Westlands held their annual Christmas Fayre and (once again) smashed their previous record for a fundraising event. The fayre, in aid of Cancer Research UK, raised a staggering £882.32 thanks to the generosity and kindness of the staff, students, parents and carers of Westlands.

Stalls this year included Gifts for Mam and Dad, The Sweet Shop, Guess the Name of the Bear competition, and the Lolly Stick Game. Back again due to popular demand were the Westlands Cake Stall (thanks to Catering Teacher Kim and the team), Tornado Tombola, and the rollercoaster thrills of the Raffle! Prizes for the tombola and raffle had been donated by staff & friends and prepared by the staff & students of Westlands' PDC Unit. There are two unclaimed prizes:

If you can collect your prizes by Wednesday (17th) next week please. Any unclaimed prizes will be donated to a charitable cause.

Cancer research transforms and saves lives. The purpose of studying cancer is to develop safe and effective methods to prevent, detect, diagnose, treat, and, ultimately, cure the collections of diseases called cancer. The study of cancer is called oncology. It is known that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer and every penny that we have raised today will help Cancer Research UK work towards removing this from our lives.

This year's event could not have been possible without the hard work of Jan & Sarah (who begged and nagged for donations before wrapping them so expertly into prizes) and all of the other people who donated, manned stalls and helped support our children in making this year a success.
